live from our backyard
Live From Our Backyard was awarded a grant from BIPOC Arts Australia to create a pilot episode for a new music program showcasing multilingual artists in Melbourne. The show’s concept aims to prove that music is a universal language and listeners don’t need to understand lyrics to connect with a song.
Encapsulating the iconic Aussie backyard, the pilot episode features Filipino artist and The Voice contestant Jaydean where he covers three songs, with one song performed in a language other than English.
Since its production, Live From Our Backyard has grown and is currently in pre-production seeking funding to become a live community music event with the goal of connecting multilingual artists with local audiences over their shared love of music. The event will be live-streamed for online viewers and the footage will be created into a YouTube music video series, with bonus clips featuring interviews with the artists.
